During the biketour from Cape York at the tip of Australia to Alice Springs in Northern Territory I have used the same Koga Miyata World Traveller which I have used during my ride from Alaska to Patagonia and from Germany to Turkey. From Alice Springs to Cape Leeuwin in West Australia I had the opportunity to use a recumbent from HP Velotechnik in Germany called Scorpion. Both bike and trike had a Rohloff Speed Hub mounted and had Magura Disc brakes, Continental tyres called Travel Contact as well as very solid SL Bike components racks. From my sponsor VAUDE I had discovery waterproof bike panniers. I wanted to feel the experience of using a recumbent trike and am very glad I did, for it has been an extraordinary experience. I never had any doubt about any of the two bikes, but as I never travelled on a trike before I wasn`t sure if I would be able to travel with the trike for any length of time. During that fantastic ride my mind and my body had to accept a new concept of riding and I feel very happy to have had the opportunity to do just that.
